Entry 21: Cyberwelless - Handling Inappropriate content

Yesterday, I was serving the net when I came across a link to a game website which I sensed was full of viruses. Although I felt like it was wrong of me to goto the website, I went to the website as it promised to let me play a game to its fullest. And guess what I was right, my Mcafee siteadviser marked it as dangerous and before the page appeared I immediately closed my internet explorer. From then onwards I fear my computer was inffected with a dangerour virus. I can actually discern if the content is inappropriate by looking the way the webpage is designed, like if the webpage design was inpropral you should know its a inappropriate content. Well if I was to handle a content which I knew was Inappropriate I would immediately stop viewing it.

Entry 20: Cyberwelless - Cyber Addiction

My favorite computer game is Call Of Juarez Bound In Blood. I spent about two hors a day playing computer games and I only play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It has affected my daily routine by stopping me from spending with my family on weekends. You can prevent cyber addiction by controlling the urge inside and to tell you the truth i have never got addicted in my life although i love games. If a friend of got addicted i will tell him that if the addiction is affecting his life than stop it as you might never know when he might die so he must treasure every minute of his life instead on spending too much time on computer games.

Entry 19: Effects of Preventive Measures on Pupils

I think that the school's way of prevention is good, because the way the school is preventing will stop separate one class from the other ensuring me because if someone from another class gets H1N1 he will be separated from another class stopping the transmission of H1N1. High achievers and my golf CCA affected me. The activities have affected me by letting me go home straight after a hard day's work at school instead of causing to go for my after school activities. I find the school a lttle more boring now because i can't go for mt golf lessons and I can't socailise with school mates from other classes. My relationship with my chinese teacher because I don't get to see him. I spent the extra time on reading books, revising or for sleeping when I'm really sleepy. And its also a good thing my activities outside school are not affected.

Self Dicipline

One bright sunny afternoon, Jason was walking back home from school while playing the PSP. When his classmate Adam who was an expert in gaming saw the game Jason was playing, he found it supremely boring, Adam looking at Jason disappointed for being such a loser at choosing games said disappointingly " Your game is as boring as watching a hen sitting on its nest, why don't you buy the raved game called 'Need for Speed Undercover' which is an awesome game, it has all the cool features like doing silky moves with a car." Jason replied excitedly " Wow, when I get home I'm going to beg my father to get me the game!" And thus Jason got the game and a lot of misfortunes started to happen......
Not long after Jason got the game, he started neglecting his studies and became addicted to the game. And not long after, he started playing 12 hours a day. And when his worried parents tried to confiscate it, Jason would fight like a bear protecting its cubs and finally he will retreat to his room and lock the door. Soon the addicted and insane-like Jason even blocked all the openings to his room to block anyone from coming in, his only food source was water from the toilet in his room. Then one day, "BOOM" the door blew opened and bits of sharp wooden shards flew all over the place, police officers rushed into the room and they dragged out Jason holding him tightly in their hands and as Jason was dragged out he screamed like a mentally deficient chimpanzee, in a matter of seconds Jason felt an excruciating sharp needle-like pain on his arm and almost immediately he passed out.
When Jason came to his senses he discovered he was in a a large cell made of sponge with a door also made of sponge. Jason violently charged at the door over and over again to destroy the door but bounce off in the end every time he tried. Suddenly a male voice was heard "Hello there Jason, I'm your doctor, your parents had called the police for help, which is the reason why you are here, a rehabilitation centre." When Jason heard this he behaved like a psychologically insane person and kept moaning painfully over his game. A year passed and the hard work of the rehabilitation centre have finally turned Jason into a normal person, but although he is a normal person now everyone in school thinks he is a psychopathic freak and he has no friends. Jason regretted that his lacked in self discipline caused him to ruin his life.

Entry 18: Reflective Time for Science (Light Energy)

In my house, I observed that my family uses light to see things, see what they are writing, bright up fish tanks, brighten up the house and to tell if something is on or off. Light helps my family to identify things, for example, one of us wanted to go to the toilet to pass out shit, but you can't even see a single thing, sometime we might mistook the sink as the toilet bowl causing us to shit in the sink. If there was no light on earth then we would have already been dead, because if there is no light on earth then all of the plants will die, and if there's no plants on earth then all the herbivores will die, and if there's no herbivores the larger carnivores will be driven to eat the smaller carnivores, and since there's only large carnivores left we humans will have no choice but to eat the large carnivore, and large carnivores breed slowly unlike chickens which breed about 20 eggs a day, and since there's 6 billion humans on earth we would have to eat about 2 billion large carnivores, and large carnivores breed really slow so there won't be sufficient food to feed the entire human species, resulting into our extinction.

Entry 17: Classroom Cleanliness

I don't think our classroom is clean because there's pieces of shredded paper everywhere and if you pour water on the floor you will be able to see lots or tiny dirt particles floating on the water. I think we should keep our classroom clean because if we don't keep it clean, it will become a junkyard attracting creatures like rats which cause diseases like the dreaded plague also known as the black death. Plus its easier to fall sick because smelly places are the dream home for virus or bacteria, and since there is a pandemic going we better keep our classroom clean. I keep the classroom clean by not littering, picking up litter and advising people to keep the classroom clean. I participated by picking up the litter. I think I learned that littering is a bad thing to do because it destroys the reputation of the class for its cleanliness and littering makes it troublesome for people because we must keep picking up the litters. I learned self-discipline because you must heave the self-discipline to throw the rubbish into the dust bin and not lazily litter it.

Entry 16: Influenza A H1N1

I supposed all of you heard about the horrible virus that might destroy Singapore known as H1N1, Swine Flu or Influenza A. The H1N1 virus is a virus that first infected pigs from there the pigs transmitted the virus to humans. The virus is seriously nothing to joke about because it might be hiding in anyone's body. Like there was this french man which came to work in Singapore, then one night after work he went to a pub with friends then after that he went to watch a concert and then when he was on his way back he felt very sick and went to the hospital, but before going to the hospital he still went shopping and when he reached the hospital, oh no guess what, he had the virus all along. Now this is really very bad because the virus spreads like normal flu and if you just talk to someone the flue Will infect the person because the flu flew right out of your mouth onto the other person. So far a lot of countries are infected, their names are China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam. Countries now deal with the virus but quarantining infected people, shutting down schools, checking people that enter Singapore from an infected or non-infected country and advising people to have a good hygiene. Anyway i don't find the temperature taking exercise very effective because even if u contracted the virus and went to school still feeling ok, even before you start the exercise most of your classmates have already contracted the virus from you. Singapore is quarantining people, advising people to have a good hygiene, checking people that enter Singapore from an infected or non-infected country but not closing down the school, my home said that the ministry of health told the ministry of education to close down the schools but they didn't, now look what happen there are now teachers that contracted the virus from a teacher and it cause a lot of chaos. To fight the virus I will stay away from people that are suspected as infected people whether they like it or not because i do not want to get the killer virus, the person should try to understand because nobody wants to contract the virus and suffer. I will also try to practice good hygiene because it lowers the risk of you contracting the virus.

Entry 15: SA 1 Review

The SA1 papers did not test me fairly because there was this question's answer which had several errors, which me and some guys spotted. The question was the one about which you have to count the number of perpendicular lines, the answer on the answer sheet was definitely wrong because there were angles which were really samall so i supposed the exam paper setter did not count them as angles because they were too small to see. Anyway i think i did really bad for SA1 although I got second in class because even though I got 97 for maths, I find it only ok because you must at least get one hundred marks to count yourself good. I supposed the high achievers program helped me because it helped me understand the subject better.Yes i have tution, i think it helped me because it taught me skills which slimpified the subject. To improve my studies i will just have to study harder its as simple as that. I think the school should give students more homework to help them in their studies.

Olympic Values: Friendship

There ones were two best friends named Sawn and Josh. When the exams were nearing both of them studied very hard, both wanting to defeat each other in their studies.Soon they both started hating each other to the core, both of them also started scolding each other in rude ways like " I'm gonna beat u till when you see how many marks i got higher than u, your eyeballs will pop out of your head." After the war-like exam, the thing that make them very nervous had arrived, the results. Slowly, they opened the report book to see their results, then they told each other their marks, guess who won, Sawn won! Sawn was so happy he jumped with extreme joy while Josh kept saying "I gonna beat u next time!", Josh just could not believe he lost. After days both still had not spoken to each other because of their hate for each other and they started feeling rather sad than hate because they were no longer friends. So the next day they met with other and became the best of friends again. From this incident they learned that they should not hate each other over a competition, but be friendly with each other and take it as a game to test who was better then the other.

Entry 14: Kindness

I think kindness is about showing concern for other people. I think It is people to be kind because without kindness life would be very miserable. One can show his kindness by showing care for others. I feel glad after doing an act of kindness because when you do an act of kindness you are doing one good. One act of kindness I done happened last year, the exam was over, and I saw that Joshua Lim had cane marks all over his leg so I showed my concern by asking him what happen. An act of kindness I would like to do is donating old clothing to poor and very unfortunate families because those families might have too little clothes and have no choice but to wear the same clothes everyday. I think I can promote the message of kindness by telling my friends the glory of kindness.

Entry 13: International Friendship Day

I think we celebrate international friendship day because we can improve our friendship with friends.It started in US in 1935, the festival then gained popularity and is what it is today. ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations. I think it aims to accelerate economic growth, social progress, culture development among its members, the protection of peace and stability of the region, and to provide opportunities for member countries to discuss differences peacefully. Yes, I think I could learn a lot from it. I do not have any friends from the ASEAN countries because I have not met one. The school should organize a stage show which consist of many ASEAN speakers.

Entry 12: Improving the School

Some of the aspects I think can be improve are the IT cafe, library and canteen. I think that they can be improved a little more, this are some of my suggestion : For the it cafe I think we can improve it by improving the Internet connection, the connection is bad because I cant access the Internet on some computers, for the library they should expand it and get more books as i think the selection of books need improvement, for the canteen it needs to buy new chairs, because some of the chairs were spoilt and once I fell right through them. Some of the aspects I think can be improve even more are the bookshop, field and toilet. This are my suggestions to improve them : For the bookshop it needs a wider array of stationarys, for the field the school has to plant more grass, because there are patches on the field which have totally no grass, for the toilet it needs to improve its toilet bowls because normally the toilet bowl will be filled with urine. The pupils can help improve the school by not littering, because if pupils keep littering it will affect the school's environment.

My school mates stay with their belongings all the time except when they go into the library where they would have to leave their bags outside. During the CCA they just leave their belongings beside them the whole CCA except when they have to go for a break or when they go somewhere else which is near. Maybe a way is to place their belongings where people can see their belongings because if someone tries to steal your belongings at least someone is there to catch the theft red handed. But the best way to ensure that your belongings are in a appropriate place is to carry then with you, because you'll always be there to guard your belongings because if a theft robs you you can scream for help. So that's my opinion.

Entry 8 Activities For Becoming Better Readers

The first activity is to read books more often or you'll find your results dropping. The second way is to read with a motivation to make you feel more more comfortable. The third way is to look out for difficult words then you're reading, because when you find the meaning you'll improve your vocabulary. The fourth way is to find out the many meaning of a specific word' that will also improve you vocabulary. The fifth way is to read with efforts, because reading with efforts widens up your brain to suck in more knowledge. The sixth way if to read with 'expressions, for example' Tom went to Thomas and happily said " Hi Thomas." but if he said it in an evil voice "Hi Thomas"' It will sound like Tom wants to kill Thomas. The seventh way is to read the newspapers more often because newspaper tend to use phrases. The eighth way is to make sure you read because if you make the habit to stop reading you'll keep doing it. The ninth way is to study phrases because with phrases you can make a compo more interesting. The tenth way is to read and learn the meaning of the words to help you improve your compo.

Entry 8: Review of T1 Target-Setting Excercise

Setting targets purpose are to help you achieve your targets by always reminding you that you have to achieve it and not give up because your parents will reward you with something. I suppose setting targets are useful because for instance if you aim for 100 you might get 94 or even higher because if your target is higher you'll have to work harder for it or else if you work without any hard work you'll just find that your efforts were worthless. Well I wasn't the one that set my targets my Father was the one. I am going to help myself achieve my targets by making sure I revise my homework. My parents will constantly help me in my assessment and also paying for my tuition. For my Chinese my parents will converse with me in Chinese to help me improve my Chinese. My motivation is that when I get good results my parents will reward me with something. The teachers can help us by giving us more homework as I think we get to little homework.

Entry 7: Festivals in Singapore

Well, the festivals I celebrate are Christmas and Chinese new year. I celebrate only two festivals because I don't have any religions, but the reason why I celebrate Christmas is just for fun. And of course I must celebrate Chinese new year because I'm Chinese and its just enjoying a family reunion. The way I celebrate Chinese new year is by having a family reunion by having lucky yu sheng and then inviting my relatives to come to my house to play video games. The way I celebrate Christmas is just by placing a Christmas tree in my living room till the end of Christmas and receiving presents from my parents and also having a feast, no Christmas cards, no singing carols as I hate singing because it gives me such a headache and no family reunion. Some other festivals I know are Depavali, Auld Lang Synge's day, new year's day, Hari Raya puasa, Esther day, Thaipusam and National day. Indians celebrate Depavali by praying at the temple, Auld Lang Synge's day if celebrated by forgiving and making new friends by people all over the world, Hari Raya puasa is celebrated by doing spring cleaning, drawing pictures on the floor and wearing Malay custom clothing to pray at the mosque, Esther day is celebrated by making Esther eggs and praying at the church, Thaipusam is celebrated by Hindus, some Indians will honer their gods by piercing metal rods attached to decorations into their body and walk through the streets to their Hindu temple and while they walk along the streets their fellow Hindus will sing Indian songs to encourage them to keep walking and not give up, National day is celebrated by we Singaporeans by having a show at marina bay on a floating platform. Celebrating festivals in Singapore helps strengthen racial harmony because if an Indian celebrates Chinese new year he might feel more connected to the Chinese race.

Entry 6: March Term Break

I think the school gets pupils to read every morning is to improve the students English. I like reading because it will help me improve my English and it is interesting to read. I also think that the school has done a proper thing by getting the students to read. I think the school can encourage the students to read by telling them how much reading will help them in their English. If I were to recommend a book, Geronimo Stilton books will be my choice to students because I think that I like reading the Geronimo Stilton books because their sentences are well-phrased.

Entry 5: Activities Outside School

I am a person that is involved in many outside activities, I have guitar , swimming and tuition lessons. For tuition I always put in a lot of time because my total time on tuition is three hours and if you add the time I spent doing the homework for tuition its a total of four hours. I am involved in tuition because it will help me in my studies. I don't feel stressed in tuition because why should I fell stress while it helps me with my studies. For swimming I put an hour, the only good thing about swimming lessons to me is because it helps me with my physical strength and I think it will help with my school work because it will help me by improving the oxygen flow to my brain which freshens me up. For guitar lessons, I learn it because I think its fun, I also think that it will help me in my school work because when I have reached secondary school it will help me gain more marks because if you became like the leader of the CCA the school will reward you with marks because you excelled well in the CCA.

Entry 4: Journey Earth Hour 2009

We all know that climate change does damage to earth but no matter how hard we fight climate change we cannot win, because there about millions of people which rather watch earth suffer while they enjoy, like cases of clearing forests to build farmlands, instead of chopping down the trees which takes a lot of hard work they rather be fat lazy pigs and burn down the entire forest to speed things up. Another case takes place in Canada, the oil riggers there wanted to change the oil they took from the ground into crude oil, when I mean crude oil it means oil that does not contain anything from the ground anymore, because when you have just extracted oil from the ground there sure to be particles in the ground like soil and dirt in the oil right so this Canadians burn the oil with extreme heat to destroy the particles and the smoke form the heat were let out to the sky which affected the climate real badly and to make things worst they could actually avoid this by burning oil in another way but they did not, why? Because burning oil the way they did was cheaper but burning oil another way which did not affect climate change so much was much more expensive, besides it was not like they were going bankrupt. Ok now I will tell you my view on how to fight climate change, the best way to fight climate change is to corporate with one another like in America they chop down woods instead of burning them but in Indonesia they burn the forest, so for example if people around the world could stop burning down trees climate change won't affect us so badly.

I learned that in Microsoft excel we can use it as an calculator but that does not mean we could use Microsoft excel to do our maths homework. In Microsoft excel we create list of items like the " My Visit To The Bookshop ". I also Learned that in Microsoft excel we can create list of things similar to a timetable.One of the things I learned that we can change the colours of the cells or text. The next thing I like about Microsoft excel is the ability to finish stuff like lists and timetable faster then just drawing them out and doing things on Microsoft excel is much neatly the drawing timetables or lists because one's handwriting might be bad. Microsoft excel is useful to me like calculating 641974 x 45484 as if I do it with a working it might take me ages to get the answer.

TDD 2009: Intra-level Blogging Competition

We as Singaporeans shall defend our nation because without it we are nothing. For instance, there has been a very dangerous terrorist threat to Singapore and you have been captured by them. They start to interrogate you, they say that if you tell them some very classified information on how to blow up orchard road , they will let you live but if you refuse to give in they will make you feel intense pain. Will you give in and turn your back on all your fellow Singaporeans, or will you refuse to give in, saving your fellow Singaporeans and ending up as a hero. The decision is up to you. We must also defend Singapore to the last Singaporean standing. We must also play our part to defend Singapore's greenery and not destroying it because without it Singapore would look like a island that does not having anything natural. We must at all cost not destroy Singapore's greenery, because without the greenery in Singapore, tourist will not come to tour Singapore and the hotels and tour agencies will start to lose money and eventually go bankrupt. So we must take good care of the greenery around us while its still in Singapore. We must also ensure that our air is clean because ones it's dirty it will give Singapore's tourist board a very bad reputation and it will make the air that we breath in dirty and unhealthy. To ensure that the air around us is clean we must not burn things unnecessarily because ones my neighbour started to chop a tree in his backyard and when he chopped it down he burned it, it made the air in my house so smelly, even when I ran to my bedroom to breath I could still smell the horrible smelly smell of the burning .( Got image from google )

My visit to Thye Hua Kuan Hospital

Ok, when I first went into the hospital I tried holding my breath because I thought that the air in the hospital was very dirty, but after a while I could fell that air was quite fresh so I continued to breath normally again. When we went up to the fourft floor I could see that the patients were quite sad and when I saw this I felt quite sad too. But when we gave the patients the goodies I was no longer sad because the patients started to smile. When we walk through the third floor giving out goodies I saw something that made me scared it was a bottle that exposed radiation, how did I know about this, there was this radiation sign on the bottle( picture of radiation sign on upper right corner , got photo from google). Radiation is dangerous because in russia there was this village that lived nerby this factory that exposed a lot of radiation. And then in the village the pregnet ladys started givin birth to deformed babys because of the radiation. So now you know how dangerous radaition is. Alright, I think the best way to help the community is to help the needy by helping them live their lifes like any other normal human like donating cash to them, donating away your unwanted items to them or sometimes even giving them a home.

School's Vision, Missions and Values

The school's mission is about providing quality education to equip pupils with the values, knowledge and skills for the 21st centurty. Well I supposed to equip pupils with the 21st century stuff you would have to teach the pupils in a more morden maner like doing homework on the net. The school's vision is about for our school to be a school of distinction, nurturing future-ready citizens of character. Well to me I feel it is better to follow 1960s style of deciplening children because from my P1 to P3 years there was this boy named Jearld and every day he kept smacking people, he ones even rolled Wei Kiet off the staircase and Wei Kiet's nose bleeded a lot in P1. So I think that if we had diceppline Jearld in the old super strict old fashion style , Jearld would not have hurt so many pupils. The school's values is called PIE ( P- passion for learning, I- integrity our foundtion, E- excelence in everything we do) all of this are very important because it shows wheather you have pride in your work or not.

I think its bad if we steal images from yahoo or google without stating that we took his pictures, imagined if we worked on creating a very funny image with lots of special effects that took us weeks to create, then if we put it on google and wanted everyone to see our image but some guy took our image and post it on his blog then instead everyone would think that he was the on that he created the image and instead of us getting the credit he gets it. So I go againts stealing ones copyright. Ok lets get on with the friendliness thin alright. Ok when you are coming across your email and when you open up one of your mails and you are being scolded by vulgar languge, you will become very upset right. So I suggest that you should write proper languge to not one.
